💡 This article is intended for administrators and managers.
You can limit call access for your teams so they only see the activities relevant to them. This feature is particularly useful for large teams, companies operating in multiple regions, or units that function independently.
By default, all calls are accessible to all users in Modjo.
This article will guide you through:
I. Activating the access restriction feature
II. Configuring access restrictions for different teams
III. Understanding access rules
IV. Knowing which features are affected by visibility rules
🚨 Prerequisites: You must be a Modjo Administrator or Manager to perform these actions.
I. Activating the Access Restriction Feature
To activate this feature:
Go to Settings > Advanced.
Enable the option "Restrict call access by Team".
Click "Edit" to configure access restrictions for your teams.
II. Configuring Access Restrictions for Teams
To set up access rights:
Go to Settings > Teams
Choose from three configuration options for each team:
Access to all calls (default): All calls are accessible. Recommended for cross-functional teams or executive teams.
Access to calls from multiple teams: Allows viewing calls from multiple teams, useful for BDR and AE teams who collaborate on opportunities.
Access to calls from this team only: Limits access to calls from their own team, for example, for an HR team that doesn't need to see calls from other teams.
III. Understanding Access Rules
Call access rights are based on the user's team membership and the participants in the call.
If a user belongs to a single team (e.g., Team 🅱️), they can only see calls where a member of their team is present.
If a user belongs to multiple teams, they can see all calls involving members from any of their teams.
Team Legend:
Team Ⓜ️: Marketing
Team 🅰️: Account Executive
Team 🅱️: BDR
Explanation of Access Rights:
✅ Can see means team members can view the call.
❌ Cannot see means team members cannot view the call.
Call access table by team
The table below shows which calls each team can see, based on the participants in the call and the user's team membership.
IV. Features Affected by Visibility Rules
Once activated, the access restriction applies to the following features:
Home
Search and Explore
Library
💡 Access to analytics data and exporting is not affected by these restrictions. Visibility and access to the settings page are managed by the user's role.
