Call access restriction

Restrict access and visibility of calls within your organization.

Updated over 2 months ago

💡 This article is intended for administrators only.

You have the option to restrict call access for your teams, allowing them to view only the activities that are relevant to them.

This feature is especially beneficial for large teams, companies operating across multiple regions, or independent units.

By default, all calls are accessible to all users in Modjo.

This article will guide you through:

Prerequisites: You must be a Modjo Administrator to perform these actions.

1. Activating the access restriction feature

To activate this feature:

  1. Enable the option "Restrict call access by Team".

  2. Click "Edit" to configure access restrictions for your teams.

2. Configuring access restrictions for teams

To set up access rights:

  • Choose one of the following access options for each team:

Access to all calls (default): Grants access to all calls. Recommended for cross-functional or executive teams.

Access to calls from multiple teams: Allows viewing calls from multiple teams, which is useful for BDR and AE teams that collaborate on shared opportunities.

Access to calls from this team only: Restricts access to calls only from the user’s own team, suitable for departments like HR that don’t require visibility into other teams’ calls.

3. Understanding access rules

Call access rights are determined by the user's team membership and the participants in the call:

  • If a user belongs to a single team (e.g., Team 🅱️), hey can view only those calls that include a member of their team.

  • If a user belongs to multiple teams, they can see all calls that involve members from any of their teams.

Team Legend:

  • Team Ⓜ️: Marketing

  • Team 🅰️: Account Executive

  • Team 🅱️: BDR

Explanation of Access Rights:

  • Can see: means team members can view the call.

  • Cannot see: Team members do not have access to view the call.

Call access table:

The Call Access Table shows which calls each team can see, based on the call participants and the user's team membership.

4. Features affected by visibility rules

Once activated, access restrictions will apply to the following features:

  • Home

  • Search and Explore

  • Library

💡 Access to analytics data and export functionality is not impacted by these restrictions. Visibility and access to the Settings page are determined by the user’s role.
