Why is my contact not linked to my Call?

Discover the reasons and solutions for associating contacts with calls.

Updated over a week ago

When you make a call or join a meeting, Modjo automatically tries to link the prospect’s contact details (phone number or email address) to a contact in your CRM.

However, some contacts might not be correctly associated.

Here are the main reasons for this issue and the solutions to fix it.

1. Issues with video conferencing tools (Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.)

  • The contact was not in your CRM at the start of the meeting:

    • Problem: If the contact does not exist in your CRM when the meeting starts, Modjo cannot link it.

    • Solution: Manually add the contact to your CRM after the meeting. Once added, synchronization will update it within 24 hours.

  • The contact’s email address is missing or incorrect in the CRM:

    • Problem: The contact’s email address in your CRM does not match the one used in the calendar invitation.

    • Solution: Verify and update the email address in your CRM to match the one listed in the invitation.

  • The contact’s email address was not included in the meeting invitation:

    • Problem: Modjo can only associate contacts who are listed as attendees in the meeting invitation.

    • Solution: Add the contact as an attendee in future meeting invitations to ensure automatic association.

2. Issues with phone providers (Aircall, Ringover, Outreach, etc.)

  • The contact’s phone number is incorrect or does not match the one in your CRM:

    • Problem: The phone number in your CRM does not match the one used during the call.

    • Solution: Update the phone number in your CRM to match the correct format (e.g., +33 6 XX XX XX XX).

  • The contact was not in your CRM at the time of the call:

    • Problem: If the contact does not exist in your CRM when the call occurs, Modjo cannot link it.

    • Solution: Manually add the contact to your CRM after the call. Synchronization will correctly associate it within 24 hours.

  • The phone number format is not standardized:

    • Problem: Inconsistent phone number formats can prevent proper association.

    • Solution: Standardize the phone number format in your CRM to avoid errors. Example: Use +33 6 XX XX XX XX instead of +33 06 XX XX XX XX.

3. Tips to prevent these issues

  • Regularly sync your CRM: Keep your contact data up-to-date before meetings or calls.

  • Check meeting invitations: Ensure all participants are listed correctly with their professional email addresses.

  • Standardize phone number formats: Use a consistent format for all numbers in your CRM to avoid mismatches.

These straightforward solutions will help you seamlessly associate your contacts with your calls or meetings.
